Apparently, at around the turn of the last century in the US, the average age or median age of delivering mothers was 40, but I've never seen that statistic myself.

I was 36 when my first baby was born, 46 for my second. Both children were unplanned, and conceived naturally. They are both a joy and a delight, and have opened up new worlds.

Sarah, 38, agrees with Jacqueline. My mother was 46 when she had me, and my father had just celebrated his 52nd birthday. They didn't have a lot of money, but what they gave to me in love was priceless. How can you put a value on that?

Gavin, 26, says that he never once thought of his mother as being any different to the younger mothers of his classmates, particularly since his father was also much younger. Gavin was conceived when his mother, now aged 70, embarked on a second marriage with a man 14 years her junior.
At the time of Gavin's birth, his mother was 44 and his father was just 30. Despite disapproval from other family members, and jibes that the relationship would never last, his parents are still happily married.

I'm not an official mommy yet, but I will be seeing my OB today to decide if we are going to induce or not. I'm not in my 40's, I'm 50 years old.
This is the first child for both my husband and myself. I don't feel much of a connection with a lot of younger moms, so I don't post that much any where. So hopefully you all won't mind an old lady like me joining in.
I didn't know about this group before, and it would really be nice to with a bunch of ladies that are even close to my age
