Then when their only child was a senior in high school, my friend discovered she was pregnant at 47. So in their empty nest years they were suddenly starting over. They were concerned that this child would be essentially another only child with a sister 18 years older, so they decided to try to get pregnant again.
Three months before her 50th birthday, my friend gave birth to not one, but two babies, fraternal twins! These people are the best parents, and even though they are older, they seem to be loving the chaos in their lives.

I am 45 and have a beautiful 19-month-old son; he was a "surprise". I have 2 wonderful, grown stepsons (24 and 26). I had a great pregnancy and other than having to have a c-section, no problems with delivery.
We had been married 16 years when I got pregnant and I didn't think I could get pregnant. He is such a blessing (as are all children)

I got married at 40, and pregnant naturally at 44. Great pregnancy, normal C-section. I went into menopause at 46. My son is now 18.

Miracles happen. My father was born in 1908. My grandmother was 50 years old when she conceived. She was ecstatic. No one else was. My grandfather dropped dead two years later. I think it was from shock. He had nephews who were his age.
