I had to laugh since everyone, at the least the fertility clinic, has been telling me the opposite! Anyway she went on to tell me about this relative and that relative that got pregnant in 40's and late 40's!!!HUH!!!!

When I was much younger (early 80's), I worked in an ice cream shop on weekends during high school. I was waiting on a boy once (about 11 or 12 years old) and asked him what his grandmother would like - she was talking to a friend, and not paying attention.
He said, "She's not my grandmother - she's my mom, she had me when she was 49". He must have heard his mom referred to as his "grandmother" pretty often because his response seemed well rehearsed.
So, ladies, having babies while you're well over 40, 45 is still possible.

My doctor is fantastic, but I want to try another protocol and he is open. He specializes in women over 40 in the west coast and has gotten women pregnant at 47 years old. I am 44, turning 45 soon.

I too lost a child (my first pregnancy) at 9 weeks, so I understand how it feels.
The good news is that 2 months later I was pregnant again, and am now 35 weeks along with an active healthy baby boy. I just turned 45 last Saturday and my husband is 48, with a 20 year old daughter from his previous marriage.
I don't know if you guys are planning to try again, but if you are I would say please do not give up because now you know that it is still possible.
