It's been a decade of older mothers and of fertility treatments becoming the norm. It started with Cherie Blair's high-profile pregnancy at the age of 45 in 2000, and ended with a British woman of 66 giving birth to an IVF baby created with a donor egg.I don't know if getting up three times a night is any easier in your youth: I only know that it was made possible for me by the fact I was always keen to see my miraculous and lovely baby - even at three in the morning. One thing about older mothers is that they're very grateful.
In many ways, this decade of egg counts, dirty nappies, milky bottles and toddler taming has been the best one of them all.
