Got a BFP [big fat positive - postive pregnancy test] on Friday, I’m not 44 but I will be in November. My daughters fiance's mom was 48 when she had him, my husband’s mom was 40, my ex-siter-in-law was 44 when she had a full term baby girl. SO it really does happen.
This last few weeks I did alot of thinking and praying. I was ready to go back to a therapist to talk and my problems and pretty much giving up on pregnancy. There was a lot of stress about getting old, blah blah blah. Don’t give up hope, I had 3 of my 5 kids when I was 36 and older.

Spontaneous pregnancies in older mothers are occasionally reported. This occurrence raises certain questions related to the mechanism of conception, the consequences of maternity at an advanced age, and the natural history of such pregnancies. Sometimes, an extraordinary case provides insight and clues for our understanding of the ordinary. We present a case of a 56-year-old primipara with spontaneous twin gestation complicated with pregnancy-induced hypertension.
We delivered discordant twins, weighing 2200 and 1400 g at 35 weeks’ gestation. Both infants were discharged with normal neurological and ophthalmologic status on day 43 of life.
This case, to the best of our knowledge, describes the oldest mother having a spontaneous twin gestation. Since this rare occurrence might definitely be underreported, we could only recall the Biblical description of a singleton birth: Abraham & Sarah.
