HCG levels from normal twin pregnancies

NORMAL TWIN PREGNANCIES

Twin pregnancies tend to show higher HCG levels on a given day of pregnancy. However, there is a large variation in HCG levels between pregnancies, and great overlap exists between single and twin pregnancies.

The values below are from a group of 29 normal twin pregnancies. Because this is a very small group of patients and because lab assays vary, it is important not to rely on these values to determine whether your pregnancy is viable, a single, a twin, etc.

  • Check with your physician about your own levels

Pregnancy Signs

Tuesday, November 9, 2010
There are a few common symptoms that let you know that you are pregnant.

They are:
  • Missed period - If you have a regular 28/29 day cycle, then being late or missing a period is a pretty good sign that you may be pregnant however there are other factors that can delay periods see Could I be pregnant? so its usually better to look for more than one sign of pregnancy than just delayed period. If you have a more irregular cycle, or have just come off the Pill or other hormonal contraception, then a late period may NOT be an indication that you are pregnant.
  • Nausea or morning sickness - can occur not just in the morning but all day long. It can be as severe as throwing up or just feeling off your food. Alot of women find that their sense of smell is heightened during pregnancy, and smelling food cooking can make you feel sick. You may also find that you are absolutely starving but the thought of actually eating food is revolting or alternatively finding something that you feel like eating is very difficult.
Nausea or morning sickness generally wears off at the 12 /13 week point. Not all women feel nauseous and different prganancies can produce different symptoms.

  • Frequent urination - the desire to pee frequently is a pretty good sign of pregnancy and can start very early.
  • Sore Breasts - are another sign of pregnancy but some women experience sore breasts before bleeding. Increase in breast size, soreness and the darkening of the nipple area are key.
  • Fatigue - it takes ALOT of energy to grow a baby, so you may feel really tired during pregnancy. Take it as a hint and rest up, cause once that beautiful baby arrives regular sleep can be a thing of the past for quite some time.
  • Mood Swings and raging hormones - the sudden changes in hormone activity as your body adjusts to its new pregnant state can cause emotionality and mood swings. Again this can be pre-menstrual, but if it continues and your period just doesn't come, then it could be a sign.
  • Spotting - A woman may spot (lightly bleed) 9-10 days after fertilisation. It is not a normal period and it is perfectly normal. However, once it is done and you are confident you are pregnant, you should not spot anymore. If you do bleed at all during pregnancy see your doctor.

So these are the most common signs of pregnancy, some of them can be confused with PMS so the more you have the better. If you think you may be pregnant, take a home pregnancy test or see your doctor and find out for sure. Then, take good care of yourself.

Early Pregnancy Symptoms,How to Find That You Are Pregnant,First Pregnancy Symptoms,Ways to Check Pregnancy,How to Confirm Pregnancy

It has been observed that women often experience some pregnancy symptoms and many times they are wrong and some times they are right. Worry not, checking and confirming pregnancy is not that tough, you can easily confirm it by observing some early pregnancy symptoms.

· Missed Period: This is the most common symptom of detecting pregnancy. When a married woman misses her period, chances are that she has conceived. However, sometimes, periods can be missed due to extreme stress and weight fluctuation too.

· Tender Breasts: If women observe their breasts getting tender, then chances are that they are pregnant. Tenderness in breasts is considered as one of early pregnancy symptoms, as this part of the body is very sensitive to hormonal changes.

· Nausea: Another common pregnancy symptom is the feeling of nausea in women. During the early months of pregnancy, women can experience morning sickness, which is also called nausea. If this happens often then that can hint to pregnancy.

· Frequent Urination: Frequent urination is also a common pregnancy symptom found in women. Due to the expansion of the uterus, women get pressure on the bladder resulting in frequent urination, which hints towards pregnancy.

· Change in Taste & Smell: During early pregnancy days, women may also notice a change in taste and smell. Pregnant ladies are often unable to bear some smells and tastes, so if this is happening to you, then you might consider yourself as pregnant.

Sunday, November 9, 2008
You

Your uterus back up to 12 cm above the navel and your stomach has now almost reached its maximum volume.

You will probably be less momentum because your baby is down a little and less compresses your chest.

Your breasts may secrete a substance yellowish (colostrum).

Your baby

He is now 37 cm and weighs about 1.5 kg.

If you have not already done it he will soon take its position out (upside down).

His brain is developing rapidly and trains to open their eyes and breathe.

His movements are becoming more impressive, when it turns your stomach has to be distorted.

If it is a boy's testicles descended in scholarships, if a girl, the ovogonies transform into oocytes of the first order.

Good To Know

This week you will spend your last ultrasound, known as biometrics to a point before delivery. As your baby grows much more you can see it all.

Be very vigilant so as not to cause premature delivery, avoid stress and burnout and do not carry too heavy objects.

Drink plenty of water to avoid the risk of urinary tract infections (1.5 liters).

Weird Pregnancy Symptoms

Thursday, October 30, 2008
All women know their own bodies better than anyone else and are able to detect some signs that they are pregnant even if they are not the usual ones. Some women have unusual pregnancy symptomsthat others may laugh at or find really weird.

Some symptoms of other medical conditions can also be signs of pregnancy. This can include unusal cramping and pain in the stomach leading a woman to think she has an ulcer or other condition that requires medical attention. In some cases, she may think she has appendicitis
or a bad urinary tract infection and when she does visit the emergency room she is very surprised to learn that she is pregnant.

Women in the first weeks of pregnancy become very emotional over the smallest details. A person who speaks to them in a rough manner may be treated to an outburst of tears or anger. Crying over meaningless events is also a symptom that women don’t realize is possible when they first become pregnant.

Even though it usually develops later in the pregnancy, you may develop cravings for strange food or start to eat foods that you usually didn’t like. This could be a sign that your tastes are changing, but it could also be a sign of pregnancy. You may be hungry all the time and not able to get enough to eat or you may be the exact opposite and not have any appetite for food, even though you don’t feel ill.

The normal signs of pregnancy, such as nausea, tiredness, backache and sore breasts, are based on the high percentage of women who do report these symptoms when they first visit their doctors. This has been true of pregnancy all through the ages, just as it is true that some women never experience these symptoms and not to the same degree. A woman who has had several children will tell you that she had different symptoms on each one of them.

Early symptoms of prengancy and understanding them.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008
Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy.A missed menstrual cycle is one of the symptoms most of us have an idea about.. you got to understand the importance of each symptom as each one is somewhat related to the other. Some women experience signs or symptoms of pregnancy within a week of conception.. some dont even have an idea they've already concieved because pregnancy symptoms may develop over a few week for some women and in some, symptoms not be present at all.Ive put together some of the most common pregnancy signs/symptoms. Before that, if you have been sexually active and experiencing any of the following symptoms it is important to take a pregnancy test.. and dont panic for nothing:)

Spotting/Bleeding:
This type of bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms.. This is because about six to 12 days, the process of the embryo implanting itself into the uterine wall begins and causes a little spotting in some wommen while some experince bleeding.

Delay/difference in your mensturation cycle:
The most common pregnancy symptom is a delayed or missed menstruation which leads a woman to an immediate test for pregnancy and if you are confirmed pregnant, then you will miss your next mensturation for sure.sometimes women bleed while they are pregnant, but this kind of bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period but you must always check up with your doctor.

Swollen/Tender Breasts:
One to two weeks after conception, the swelling and tenderness of breasts is another common symptom. These symptoms are normal and are caused due to hormonal changes in the body.

Fatigue/Tiredness:
This is one of the earliest pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception.

Nausea/Morning Sickness:
This is commeon pregnancy symptom which shows up 2-3 weeks since conception in some women and will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy, while others are fortunate enough to miss out on this symptom from beginning right till the end of their pregnancy.

Backaches:
Lower backaches are another commeon symptom that occurs early in pregnancy and can increase with the pregnancy and this is because the back curves more to balance the increasing weight of the uterus.

Headaches:
The sudden rise of hormones along with an increase in the blood volume circulating throughout your body can cause you to have headaches early in pregnancy.

Frequent Urination:
The need to urinate frequently arises two to three weeks from conception due to the pressure on your bladder from your growing uterus.

Darkening of Areolas:
If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker and is just another normal symptom, you dont have to worry about.

Food Cravings:
A strong desire to feast on foods you dont even smell in normal times, tends to overpower you. This could be due to the extreme hormonal changes in a body during pregnancy that can have a powerful impact on taste and smell.
